Dagnabbit, science is hard.
I found a book purporting that Man evolved through a more or less aquatic phase, and got all excited about it (it's a really attractive hypothesis) and then I go and look it up on the net and have a look at some of the arguments against it, and it turns out that as attractive as it is, the Hypothesis is JPW(Just Plain Wrong) aka full of HOLES & errors. *headesk*
Oh well. Back to the research board. XD
Oh and
rae00? Here's your Integra Chibi drawing:

Oh, and I forgot, Meme! taken from SN & Claude:
Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my own personal pseudocanon.

Date: 2007-05-21 01:12 am (UTC)Heh, it's hard to do justice to a character half inspired by Ellery Queen, especially if one has no talent for comedy and energetic, hot tempered characters. Especially since from what little I know of Ellery, he doesn't seem that hot blooded, and yet I can see Heiji in him! Ah, Heiji. Such a paradox for background.
3. Nothing wrong with angst, per se, but evil angst truck has a tendency to....... flatten the characters. At least in my own writing experience I find. ._.;
And yes, I meant clueless about his feelings.
4. It's for the continuation of this fairly cracky non serious fic (http://dagronrat.livejournal.com/41787.html). What's posted is the transcript I wrote around 2 years ago. Am not sure how well it's aged, or actually written.
5. *______* oh hurray! *glomps you* For me it seems every serious private eye needs to be prim and conscious of his clientèle (if only to make a living). For Heiji who likes to act on his own so much, I think this could be rather a constraint.
... That said, that pretty much describes V.I.Warshawsky who is very much a P.I. >_>;
But I still think being a cop offers Heiji more freedom and resources. Even if it does mean getting into trouble with his superiors on a regular basis. (And drat, now Heiji is complaining that he wants to answer to no one. Hush Hattori. You know you want to make your father & wife proud, dangit.) >_<;
*siiiiiiiigh* Alas Oiseau de Justice is one of my fics I don't feel like continuing since I'm afraid my OC has turned into a
bad gary stuprat. If ever I do pick it up again, it will demand a lot of rewriting. T_T*huggles*
And yeah, I store my fics mostly on ff.net, though sometimes I pre-publish them on Beika Street (http://www.conan-fansub.net/Beika_street/) and also publish them on DC Fanfics (http://dcfanfics.free.fr/?p=227) when I don't forget.
Some fics are only posted on my LJ (here (http://dagronrat.livejournal.com/41787.html) and here (http://dagronrat.livejournal.com/46573.html)) for reasons I hope are self explanatory, though there are probably some (http://dagronrat.livejournal.com/tag/fanfiction) that are just waiting for me to post them to FF.net.
If I ever do write NC-17 content, they'll probably only be posted on my LJ(under lock), in relevant fic communities and on DC Fanfics (http://dcfanfics.free.fr/?cat=50).

Date: 2007-05-21 08:00 am (UTC)I've only read one Ellery Queen that far *sigh*, but I can't remember having been strucked that much by the similarities to Heiji... I obviously have to read many more of them, but somehow there don't seem to be that many french translations, and when I went to that British/American bookshop in Paris, the bookseller was too clueless and incompetent to be able to order some english versions for me.>__<
3. Ah, do you think it flattens them...?oo *looks guiltily at her own fanfics* I don't know, I liked angst because I felt like extreme situations could let me explore their behavior in situations they never experienced before and therefor "widen" their character.^^; But then I have always been addicted to angst, not only in my own fics.;>__>
4. *grins* I will see if I come to read it next time.^__^
5. Then we seem to have the same idea about Heiji being a cop, but a totally different approach to that result.^^ In my fanon, I like to point out Heiji's very traditional family issues. I always imagined him in a family of samurai descendants who were traditionally in the police forces (I still have to do some research on modern samurai families though...>__>), and though he's kind of a rebel, the Ôsakan cops are somehow a part of his family and family bonds are very important to him, just like friendship, so he probably doesn't even consider anything else than to suceed to his father's position one day.
In my head, he's also that kind of absolutely unbribable person, he solves mysteries as a passion and possibly just because he wants to help others, not because he's being paid for that (like that case in the Tottori prefecture where he brings back the money he was given to accept the job... or was it another case?>_< *has to reread the complete manga collection in her summer holidays for serious*). That's why I can better imagine him being a cop instead of a private eye who has to be paid for a service which is just natural for him. But that point seems to be pretty close to yours.^___^
And I totally agree with you that he'll probably have some serious trouble with his superiors. *grins* Especially his father!Ah, that's too bad... .__.
Thanks for the info.^__^
Next comment in a few hours, I have to keep up my working schedule this morning.;>__> *le big sigh*

Date: 2007-05-22 01:16 am (UTC)5. Wow, interesting! And good points too, though it is hard to tell since we see Heiji's side of things way too rarely.
"(like that case in the Tottori prefecture where he brings back the money he was given to accept the job... or was it another case?>_< *has to reread the complete manga collection in her summer holidays for serious*)."
Er yeah, I see what cases you mean (since I'm sure there's more than one) but I can't tell the specifics anymore either. ^^; Definitely need a reread too.

Date: 2007-05-24 08:20 am (UTC)And I agree, it is really sad that we don't know Heiji's thoughts as much as we'd like to, but on the other hand... I kinda like it, it gives me more space for personal interpretations.:)
