The Raven Chaser, roar!
Oct. 11th, 2010 01:09 pmDear person who gifted us those adorable Yorkie pups: please say Hi so we can glomp you! :D
In other news, just watched Detective Conan Film 13: The Raven Chaser.
Overall, it's not bad, even if it comes no where near dethroning films 5 and 6 from my favourites. The murder mystery felt a bit sketchy for me, and Conan's interaction with Vermouth was... so relaxed! 0_o Good on Sato for figuring out who Irish was disguised as though! :D That was fun.
Two things I disliked most: the ending song (I... yeah, I just don't like anything that makes me think "RnB"), and the fact that Heiji x Shinichi seemed to get more fanservice than Shinichi x Ran. (Goodness gracious, the two didn't even share a phone call in this film!)
I did however especially squee over how well drawn Ai was in this film ( as opposed to the Kir special episode that had me cringing every time I saw her), and her wee emotional outbursts and stuff in this film appealed to me too. Just a shame she played so little a part in it, really. XD
This film especially catered for the Detective Conan fans that know the series well, with small references to specific cases (Matsumoto's daughter, Makoto dodging the bullet, the Shuffle Romance play, that guy from movie 7, all the random detectives that come up in the series, etc...) And the moment with the shot of Gin wondering who on earth had managed to foil him so at the end was precious. ♥
As I said, not a bad film. I don't think it offers anything especially distinctive though, apart from lots of shots of the BO... And an opportunity to make up stuff about Pisco and Irish in fics if so inclined. *shrugs*
