So yeah, was a little upset on Saturday evening to learn that I'm apparently not made to serve customers or make sandwiches, but mostly because it meant I'd lose a regular salary that I felt sure could pay my bills at the end of each month and allow me to live comfortably, something I'm not confident Job Seeker's allowance and Housing Benefit would do. Apparently Regular Salary was recently 3p under official Minimum Wage too. O_o

So now I'm currently looking to splash out on a few things before I tighten the belt and start sorting through my papers to look for the Job Centre's number again.

Things I want to splash out on:
- A white board, so I can wake up and stare at a "To Do" list every morning.
- A bookshelf, so that my books are no longer just stacked in a corner on the floor.

Couldn't find either when I was in the shops earlier, so am looking on amazon. Whiteboard is no issue, but damn are decent book cases expensive. O___o;
Then I wonder why I didn't find any in the shops. -.-;;

*Ignores amazon and goes to order a cheap one from Ikea. XP 15-30£ instead of a 200£ range? Much better price! \o/*
...
*Schnapps, they don't deliver in Scotland. Wry?! [Shakes fist]*

And ebay still scares me. *sigh* I guess I'll just have to look a bit harder around here.

In other news, I now have time to get back to drawing and fics. \o/

There is no IKEA in Scotland? *blinks* But why... how... IKEA is everywhere!D: And don't you have any big furniture shopping centers in Aberdeen? They usually have a department for cheap furniture as well (or at least they have on the continent, or well, the countries I know), or are there really no cheap furniture where you live at all?óò
I'm also not quite sure I did understand everything what happened (it has been a while I couldn't follow my fl as should have done *sigh*), but good luck for finding a new job, I hope you'll find something soon! *huggles*

Yes. There are also some Ikea store in Japan. I went to the Ikea store of Osaka last week and the furnitures are cheaps. But I don't know how it is in the other countries but here, the Ikea store delivery is REALLY expensive o_O
That's why I prefered ordering my table at Mujirushi ryouhin store.

... "Le Français" XD Excellent!

Couldn't see how expensive Ikea delivery was: when I put my postcode in, the website just went "We don't deliver there!"

(Par contre y'a definitivement pas de Muji' en Ecosse. XD)

There is an Ikea in Scotland, in Edinburgh, not Aberdeen. :[

There probably are cheap furniture centres though, I just don't hunt them out that actively since I don't drive. It took me ages to figure out where I could buy a decent clothes rack from too. Which reminds me of this advert I saw for one in the local area. I'll probably figure out where that one is and see what they have to offer.

And thank you Nighty. *huugs* I hope everything is going well for you too? *Has been a bit slow on FL of late too.*

I noticed that living in some remoted parts of Scotland can be quite of a challenge at times when it comes to shopping, but I hadn't thought that living in Aberdeen could be that difficult as well.:-\ Aren't there any busses that go near those furniture centers? Not that carrying around a bookshelf in a bus would be that much fun, but still...

Well, I certainly can't complain, except for the rain maybe. *g* And for my lazyness, I should really get my ass up and start doing some serious work on my master's thesis. *sigh*
Anyway, I suppose you know that I have another - slightly more active - journal at the moment? Just checking in case you didn't...^^;

Found a decent store not too far in the end. Just not one I'd have had the reflex to look in. (Growing up in France means I don't have the local "household names" as a reflex.) Dunno what I would have done carrying 17kg of bookcase without the bus either. XD

*Huggles* Good luck with your thesis lass, and I'll go and watch that journal now. I was aware of it but haven't been reading it at all yet I'm afraid. ^^;;
