Spiderman Trois
May. 12th, 2007 02:29 amSo, guess what I went to see in town in the Cinema today?
That's right.
It was fun, though not as good as the two previous ones (that I saw on dvd with a nuisance beside me. Compared to the experience in the Cinema with full sound no distractions and big screen... Humm...)
It felt a bit like a cheesy romance with lots of special effects for me. ^^; (That said, starting with a snogging scene is not the best way to capture -my- attention.)
That said, I probably will go and see the next Spidey trilogy when it comes out. That and the opening credits were love. ♥_♥
Sandman's story was kind of touching. I really liked the "enemy" interactions in this movie. And how "SANE" Harry, aka Goblin II or something, appeared to be near the end.
Also it's one of the rare movies to make me want to mock it afterwards, so here goes:
- Sweet Peter Parker is a very romantic soul. So as to propose to Mary-Jane he books an expensive table in an expensive French restaurant, and asks the man at the entrance to bring them The Ring in a glass of Champagne.
... The Man at the entrance, of course, agrees to this while making fun of "PARKA" with his French.
His atrociously mangled French, Oh goodness. XD; AND he goes as far as to say "I am French you know" or something like that.
Pass for the sake of making the man's French accent really incomprehensible/Teh Funny factor, but oh grief it was painful. Especially the PARKER/PARKA bit. A French would pronounce it more like "Par Coeur" than "PARKA" I believe. |D;
- The Osbourne's Butler is a really great guy. But there's this one line of dialogue that woke up Dagevil (aka my evil plunny fanfic-writing conscience.)
Butler: "Listen Harry, I loved your father, just as I love you..."
Dagevil °o( Please, PLEASE tell me you mean that in a platonic sense you dirty old man. |D;;; )
Claude, you ARE to blame. :P You groomed Dagevil.
- And lastly two Comic Strip Cracks at some scenes from the movie: The end one at Harry's funeral, and the scene where Mary-Jane is fired from her job as Lead Singer in some Broadway musical.
... Fullview please because I was a dolt who choose to use and unreadable font. |D

Over all fun, with lots of great special effects. Don't expect a kick to the jaw of awesomeness though.
That's right.

Date: 2007-05-12 09:02 am (UTC)But the most terrible thing about Spiderman III was Aunty May. I dislike her. I won't go to the cinemas for the next movies because I can't bare the thought of seeing Aunty May again. (And her German voice and her way of speaking drives me up the wall.) Moreover, I dislike the disappointing "religious" solution of the main problem at the end.
But I love your comic strips. XD

Date: 2007-05-12 12:17 pm (UTC)Aunt May felt as though she was hardly needed in the movie. Like she was just a doll they'd pull out to advance the plot. D:
So disappointing. D:
(Also feel for you on the bad dub. >_>; )
...And the romance felt really contrived. I mean how cheesy is "kissing so we're so oblivious to a near miss with death from an alien piece of rock"?
No seriously. You'd think it was so close it could really have HIT THEM. O_o;I don't know how much of it can be blamed on the movie makers or whether we should blame the original Comic Strips. I know they're the one's who made Venom (the alien goo) be something from outer space.
That said I liked how the characters all seem to be faulty. Too often you get characters who "can do no wrong" and are all success. (Hello there Superman. 8D) I find the Spidey movies quite relaxing in that aspect.
... Come to think of it the moment I really hated was when Spiderman appeared in his old suit for the first time in weeks, soaring past some Gloriously Lit American flag. Way too nationalist a scene. It's like saying America is Justice and can do no wrong. Hellooo there~ Spidey's the one who let this goop run loose in the first place~?
... That said, I vaguely remember the Spiderman cartoon and really really want to see Lizardman. *___*
He cameo'd in the III already~~no subject
Date: 2007-05-12 12:38 pm (UTC)By religious ending, you meant the bell ringing, right?
... Oh good grief, this film feels choke-oh-block fill of hidden US propaganda. D:
Not that I dislike the US, but, ... what happened to the shades of grey? D:no subject
Date: 2007-05-13 08:57 am (UTC)Regarding Aunty May... I think the dub is the reason I hate Chibiusa, too. She wouldn't disturb me if I only saw her instead of listening to her voice.
I never watched the cartoon, by the way. I watched Gargoyles once. And I don't think it was a Marvel cartoon. :D

Date: 2007-05-13 04:24 pm (UTC)DC Comics and Marvel are the same thing to me. XDAh Gargoyles. Good times. &heart;
... Wait, you mean you like faulty characters as long as they are IC, or you rather them not so faulty? ô_o;
Thank goodness I didn't discover DC through the french dub. |D;no subject
Date: 2007-05-13 08:29 pm (UTC)So the French dub of DC is so bad?
no subject
Date: 2007-05-13 08:48 pm (UTC)... And the DVD presentation fails greatly.
And you mean Characters that have no faults at all can be IC? XD

Date: 2007-05-14 07:24 am (UTC)The thing which irks me about Spiderman is that the characters are faulty in a not so logical way. They seem to switch from good to bad without having a plausible reason.

Date: 2007-05-14 12:54 pm (UTC)... Yeah, is debatable how plausible "Fame" "Non Success" and "Trauma" as reasons are... ^^;; Now that you mention it. Is very... Simplified. ._.;

Bah Shrek c'est on aime ou on aime pas. Déjà mon père a détesté le 1. ^__^; Mon colocataire a adoré le trailer pour sa part (tu peux probablement le trouver sur internet en français ou anglais pour te faire une idée.) M'enfin connaissant son sens de l'humour... ^^;;;;
