It's strange. I wonder if the one who made up the birthdays thought of the astrological meanings: Shinichi and Ran would make the perfect couple, just as Ai and Shuichi. But Ai and Shinichi would be opposites which are drawn to each other... XD
Uhm, yes, I did. I am accustomed to the BSSM series in which everybody has an astrological sign which matches their character. I don't believe in astrology. But maybe Gosho believes in it? (At least when he chose the birthdays?)
But I don't think the birthdays are canon either (except Shinichi, KID and Hakuba?)
*Laughs* Well then you've got a better memory then me. ^__^
And I think I read somewhere that Gosho said in an interview that he didn't believe in Astrological profiles and blood groups (which are also said to influence on character.) Is why we are never given Shinichi & Ran's blood group, nor does he give birthdates for characters unless necessary. (Shinichi's was given in Movie One, Ran's is in the Live Drama apparently, and in MK I think only the month of Kaito and Aoko's birthdays are given. [Kaito-June, Aoko-September. (Golden Eye.) I think the 21st of June was the date given for Kaito in a Data book.] Hakuba is really the only one who gives it straightforward in manga canon I believe information obsessive detective that he is...)
Uh, OK, now the birthdays have disappeared (except Ran's, Shinichi's and Kaito's). And now Shinichi and Ran don't belong to astrological sign which match each other anymore. *gasp :P
Yeah... Like Professor Agasa's birthday being Saint Valentines? You'd think it would have come up in the Valentines case(s). >_> That and we do have a case where his birthday is mentioned (book 25) and it looks like anything but winter, since he takes the DBs to go fishing in the open sea...
*sigh* The birthdays we do know are correct, aye, but the others, er... yeah. O_o;
Pretty much the same here. And what other rare birthdays mentionned in DC (the only one I can think of is Agasa's) don't seem to concord with these... "dates."
They look like "fanon" to me, but then again, maybe someone does have some sort of source to surprise us with? Though I doubt it. ._.;

Date: 2006-11-06 06:31 am (UTC):P Hakuba seems to be fastidious about *everything*! One should write a fanfic about how he has become so obsessed with time and facts.

Date: 2006-11-03 11:44 pm (UTC)-certainly didn't see any of these birthdays in the Drill Book, which automatically makes me suspicous...
