dagronratSeems like the christmas vacation at home did nothing to cure my don't-wanna-sleepiness.
Bah, at least it was really really great to catch up and relax. ^_^
So, update, update?
Got back to school fine, fiddled with my paintings before assesment, and tried not to get too anxious.
Also managed to hand in second "CCS"(History of Contempory Art?) Essay.
Got it, and previous essay, back on monday.
Both were marked 4/6 which is a pass. What let down the first was my conversational tone, and probably something similar in the later one too. (Comment went along the lines of "Do not rely on personal opinion alone.")
Am happy with that, and the number 4 mark seemed happy with me since shortly after I went to see my assesment result, and that was it.
Had left the three painting tutors in thedrawing assessment room with my paintings against the wall, and my drawings/research on the table.
Was interesting to hear what they noted about my work.
Whereas in my research and drawings there was a lot of excitement, economy of line and experiment, it didn't seem to translate into my paintings.
The final paintings seemed to have "a sameness" that stopped anything axciting from happening, despite mysteriousness and such of the idea, because I had treated the whole canvas in a similar manner, painted it just as thickly and with similar detail in the middle as the corner...
Talking about it, I believe we concluded that it's due to my aproach to canvas, and the fact that I "lost" some of the excitement I had for my idea...
This was sort of confirmed by the fact that my collages where what they liked best, because they weren't planned, and where just random materials glued together on a canvas square.
So, will probably be working with that in mind from now on.

On another note...
Friday 13th?
Was a strange day.
Woke up and looked at the time. 9:11.
Thought of the Twin-Tower building incident for some reaason... ô_o
Then on the way to Unito mess around with my paintings I came across one of those cars they put a coffin in to display it on their way to the graveyard/church.
Four guys were standing beside it in very prim clothes, and were obviously the coffin bearers.
Just as I was about to pass them the guy in the house waved them in for the body...
That's about when I started to realize something was weird...
Checked, and yup, we were Friday the Thirteenth.
And it didn't end there.
Afterwards, I passed by the business school (which is on the way to the art school), and they were having a fire drill...
A real one. Two fire engines came blearing up the road from behind me ô_o;
All this before I even reached Uni. ^^;
Apart from that, the day went pretty well.
Except perhaps flatmate C departing in the evening...
Had it not been for flatmate R (the flat owner) mentioning to me that C had obviously started getting all his stuff out, I probably wouldn't have realized.
That's about when flatmate C came in with a friend to get his computer, and last things.
He must have been slightly embarrassed, since he went straight to his room to get it and attempted to outright ignore us, when we could obviously see and be seen from the living room.
R did get confirmation from C that he was definately leaving though.
Afterwards R and I spent quite a while talking about the whole thing.
Flat feels emptier now ~.~
Especially since R has gone home to family to enjoy his post-assesment break.
So empty flat here while I enjoy my own...
(Nice peace and quiet~ and no worrying about others when one's up all hours, yesh~ ^_^)
Ahem...
Anyways, was very glad to hear from Mom about Dad's operation going well. ^_^
And now am going to get some shut eye so I can go to the Semester 2 briefing at 2 PM on Thursday...
