I sometimes hop between chapters, too, although I seldom write like that when I write really long multichapters since the later chapter might be changed a lot when I finally arrive there. I remember having many different endings for GaTand then keeping the last ending I wrote. I usually hope between chapters only if I can’t help it and just want to write the later chapter first.
I commiserate when it comes to the growing pile of ideas. It’s difficult to keep track of all of them and continue the ones I’ve already started instead of collecting WIPs. I’ve given in to temptation too often during the past months and am fighting with all the art and fic WIPs now.
