Indeed.
Not gonna go edit past fics for it (because I'd need to cut them down by half at least and there's a lot of them), but certainly gonna consider it in my next writings and weigh how it affects the flow.

It really depends on your style. I don't think it's easy to say what's wrong and write. As long as it sounds good to you, it's fine.

23 adverbs. Aim for 9 or fewer.
3 words or phrases can be simpler.
12 uses of passive voice. Aim for 14 or fewer.
