I am pretty sure it was about ten years ago that June first mentioned the tv series to me, and I pretty determinedly put it on my to watch list.

Had a failed attempt or two at borrowing a friend's copy of the series since with little luck...

Watched the movie on the flight back from Singapore.  one word: AWESOME.

The tv series is definitely gaining more weight on the to watch list now!  ;D

(Now when I'll get around to it however... *sigh* Need to try Steins gate still too... and being on holiday means so much to catch up on the stuff we actually watch regularly. Huh.)

On a mega plus note: Good to be back home!  ^__^

I know, I am a horrible horrible procrastinator with a ridiculously short attention span. *hides*

Yeah, we did. Holiday was awesome-amazing (NZ is a beautiful country!), was good to visit long not-seen family and locations of childhood memories too.
Waiting till what our body clock had set as 5am in Changi on the way back for our next flight was a bit less fun. 12 hour time difference is Zombie-fying me still. |P

I am never going to claim to be a procrastinator ever again. That's got me beat by orders of magnitude.

Lol.

Dag's list seems to be really long.

I don't care about the rest of the list; the fact that Steins;Gate is still on it makes me cringe. x_x

Argh that really sucks. Are you on the phone or in a café or bookshop with internet access?

Hopefully he'll be able to fix it by tonight. XD I read your Frozen-DC crossover, btw. The beginning was really interesting although I need time to get accustomed to the characters first because I don't know anything about Frozen.

Yeay! I'm probably gonna write more of it if internet isn't fixed before Thursday (at latest estimate from phone company. )

Meanwhile I'll just leech wifi in pubs and occasionally turn on roaming data
:)

Lol, the lack of WiFi has its advantages...

I write on paper these days. It's easier to focus and my eyes hurt when I look at the screen all the time. *feels old

Wrote a couple of scenes on paper while on holiday.  Was nice but a lot slower than typing... also misleading: I write big on paper but use a small font on screen. seeing 3 pages done makes me think I've written tons but then I realize it's all of a small scene at best. :P

That's odd. I write into small notebooks and always underestimate how long my scenes are. I just expect them to be shorter since I take the size of my handwriting into account. XD

And you need to learn how to abbreviate stuff so that it's faster and takes less space. XD

Oh like taking notes in a lecture? ah. That makes sense. (but my uni notes included doodles and diagrams and random french. XD Not easy to translate to literary flow.)

Maybe I'll give it a go. XD

You can doodle on paper, too, drawing interior designs, scenes... It's terribly tempting. XD Especially these pretty pocket notebooks that one can fill within a month. *sobs

Veronica Mars! Do check it out, if you got the time. First season is the best; subsequent seasons are okay, though they suffer from various internal and external issues. What made the first season so good is the compact, tight-knit plotting, which made sense since it was adapted from the showrunner's in-progress novel. It helps that the showrunner had experience writing novels. You can sense it in the dialogues and worldbuilding. Overall it is a pretty good stab at updating the Marlowe-era noir genre.

Seizing the moment to recommend Orphan Black while I'm at it
