I don't like the site that this piece of news was found on. The article is surrounded by awful art and the website doesn't look that trustworthy.
However:

Am hoping it is just an elaborate April Fools of poor taste. Looking for fandom views.

Date: 2011-03-31 06:11 pm (UTC)On the other hand, it could be an attempt of Shogakukan to draw the attentions of the public to its name and to renew the interest of the fanbase. Whenever you forbid people to do something without being able to threaten them seriously, they are most likely to do the things you've told them not to do. XD

Date: 2011-03-31 07:11 pm (UTC)I... have no idea. I mean, how would that even work to forbid reviews? Or even short summaries? I can understand that they forbid pictures to be taken or altered and most other stuff, as that's basically what the "All rights reserved. No reproduction or republication without written permission." already tells anyone who bothers to scroll down the page, so most of those "new rules" seem just like a more detailed version of what should already be well-known. (Or probably even all of them, idk.) I'm just surprised that they feel the need to put more emphasis on the details of the whole copyright business all of a sudden, because to respect all of those rules to a t would very much mean the death of Fandom. And how could that ever work out to their advantage I wonder?
