WE at the Beach
Jun. 19th, 2006 11:29 pmAwh... Am just back from a Week End holiday at the beach with mom and dad and sis said weekend being Dad's slightly late 21st bday and "sorry for not being there on the day" gift.
Friday: Drive to LeTouquet (on the french coast, kinda the closest sea beach to where my parents are... 3 Hour drive though.)
Dog was an angel in the car, even if his claws are sharp!
Also, apparently my wonderful sister and I can have conversations that attempt to break our father's brain as well (bless him.)
*In the car*
Me (referring to siblings latest remarks on Sailormoon): Owe. You just broke my brain. Owe!
Sibling (totally not smug, really): *tries to make some other brain breaking remark.*
Me: No! If you want to make comments, you've got to fix my brain first!
Sibling: How?
Me: With glue?
Sibling: Naw, that wouldn't work! Brains are too mushy for glue.
Me: No. Brains aren't mushy.
Sibling: No they're mushy. The glue wouldn't work. It'd have nothing to stick to.
Me: But they're hard enough for surgeons to cut them up on the operation table. People eat brains. *with knives and forks.*
It's at this point of the conversation that dad, who was driving, decided to express his opinion.
Dad: UGH.
*Insues fits of giggles from the two girls behind him. What? We hadn't realized how gross it must have sounded until then.*
(**Of course, my memory isn't 100% certain on how the conversation went, but is somewhat like this.)
Saturday: Beachday.
After spending our first night&morning in the small studio we "rented" for the weekend (and a snug one it was too~) we went to the beach and let ourselves be BBQd by the sun in between sessions of bathing and seeing if the dog would swim. After that went to Buffalo Grill (am not fond of seafood nor is mam') for a late birthday-dinner out and discovered that Steak Tartare was not, in fact, a steak in pepper sauce (8cD sorry) but a slab of very pink meat... Probably as pink as my sun burns, heh. Was interesting to eat. ^_-
Sunday: Not beach day. 8cD
Went to visit the Abbaye de Valois (I think that's how it's spelt) and the gardens.
Mom dad and I spent most of our time walking in the shadows to avoid direct sunlight (sun lotion, we won't misplace you next time!) while sibling stayed at studio with dog to tidy up.
The gardens were beautiful and the abbaye itself had some fascinating features.
A certain Austrian sculptor (or woodcutter?) called VonVaffnen(or something like that) did a beautiful job in decorating the place.
Was really awed by the two angels in Papier Maché hanging from the ceiling of the church area. It gave a touch of extreme lightness you don't often see. ♥
Monday: Trip back. 8cD Nothing else to say.
Art wise was extremely lazy, so instead of doing the sketches /comic format/ I'd hoped to do, am posting a quick fanart/doodle using my memories of the beach.
Ah Summer~

On a totally random note, sibling got Brain Training for my Nintendo DS (that she gave me on my birthday). Her brain is around 24 yrs old. Mine 47.
Wry? Dc:
Oh well, I know why really. ^_- She's just a clever clogs.
On another random note, have got sibling addicted to PGSM.
WIN!

Date: 2006-06-21 04:44 pm (UTC)Younger sis. Eleven years younger than me. But maybe that's the reason why we're so fond of each other. She's pretty old for her age, and I'm... er, well... (lets change the topic XD).
By the way you've such pretty user pics. :D So that's Bunny-Conan?

From an illustration I did for a small fic!story I used to introduce an egghunt (http://www.conan-fansub.net/Beika_street/viewtopic.php?p=29378#29378) on the french web Board I'm on. ^^
11 years? eeh! That is quite an age gap! Is great to hear you get on so well ^__^ (and staying a child at heart is no crime, despite what my sibling sometimes says XcD)
